Funded by Arts Council England, SKETCHFEST was a glorious 10-day celebration of community, colour and creativity in the face of COVID – showcasing the power of portraiture and the joy of sketch!

Set across 2 fabulous floors at a pop-up space in Shoreditch, SKETCHFEST celebrated some of the awesome art created by the Sketch Appeal community througout the pandemic.

Upstairs, we curated a joyous ‘sketchybition’ of portraits - a diverse and uplifting display of talent, character and colour!

Downstairs, in the drawing den, we hosted a series of inclusive and experimental creative workshops with guest Artists - all of whom share our passion for creating connections, democratizing drawing, and having fun!

ABOUT The Sketchybition

SKETCHFEST included a joyful sketchybition of some of the portraits created by our Sketchy Bitches portrait club - showcasing some of the fun themes and techniques we’ve explored together over the past 2 years. Also on show - on our yelllow ‘wonderwall’ - were a selection of portraits generated by our latest #SketchTheRainbow challenge, featuring iconic Artist Sue Kreitzman and some of her fabulous London Colour Walk friends!
